"Home Away from Home"
We stayed at this property in August
2010, travelling as a family (2 adults and 3 children).
I found it through a recommendation
of a friend who had stayed before and we were looking for
an alternative to the usual mobile home on a camp site in
France.
The owners, Penny and Greg could not
have made us feel more welcome. The bedrooms were simple,
stylish but very clean and comfortable and the pool area was
just wonderful for relaxing in the heat.
You do need a car to explore the surrrounding
area. The nearest beaches are about 15 mins drive away and
there are several market towns and villages in the local area.
Montblanc itself if a charming, unspoilt French village and
has a basic supermarket, butchers, boulangerie etc.
The most surprising aspect of our
stay at la Masion Rose was the food. We stayed on a catered
let basis with eveing meal provided. Penny's food is simply
delicious - a mix of French and English and the all inclusive
price of the catered let was FAR better value that paying
restaurant prices to dine out as a familt every night.
This is a relatively new venture for
this English couple and I am sure that as they become better
known their rates will have to increase and we were just thrilled
to have discovered such a gem of a house. We'll never again
go back to campsites!
