Leisure and Tourism - Nearby
Montblanc - provides good day to day
amenities with a bar cafe, newsagent, convenience grocery store, post office, butchers,
bakers, beauty salon and tourist centre. The village also has its own market, 3 star
campsite and a golf course. A large children’s adventure playground and horse riding
stables are five minutes drive.
Golf St Thomas - The 18 hole, 72 par
golf course is a three minute drive from the village and is open all year round. We
have two sets of golf clubs which guests are welcome to use...those of you who are
serious players would probably prefer to bring your own clubs. For further information

Walking and Cycling - With miles of
open countryside surrounding the village there are numerous opportunities to explore
the area by bike or on foot. We have a number of bicycles which guests are welcome
to hire. We can even provide a very friendly dog, Harry, for walks!
Within 15 to 30 minutes drive
The list of activities and places to visit is endless and whatever
your preferences you will surely be spoilt for choice. Whilst the cities of Nimes,
Carcassonne and Montpellier are easily accessible for daytrips, here is a small selection
of activities closer to home.
Beaches - Our nearest beaches are
Vias, La Tamarissiere, Grau d’Agde and Rochelongue. All are very easily accessed by
road. The main coastal roads can get very busy during the height of the season, however
we have discovered a few good short cuts.
Coastal Attractions – The ports of
Cap d’Agde, Marseillan, Meze and Sete provide wonderful settings for a daytime or
evening stroll or a pleasure cruise and all boast some fine restaurants. For younger
visitors there are numerous leisure parks such as Aqualand and Luna Park.
Historic Towns - Our nearest main
towns include Pezenas (10 minutes) which has an excellent market, pavement cafes and
is a haven for local artists whose boutiques and workshops span the labyrinth of small
passageways in the medieval quarter, the Roman fortress city of Beziers (15 minutes)
set upon a hillside above the picturesque Canal du Midi. Built on the site of an ancient
greek settlement and the river estuary is the town of Agde (15 minutes) and further
inland , overlooking the Herault River is the town of Clermont l’Herault (20 minutes)
famed for its olive oil and its 10th century castle with spectacular views over the
surrounding countryside.
Natural Beauty – For lovers of the
outdoors there is a wealth of natural landscape to explore. Popular attractions include,
Lake Salagou offering a variety of watersports, the crystal lined caves of the Grotte
de Clamouse, the medieval village of St Guilhelm le Dessert , the Gorges de l’Herault,
and the picturesque valleys of the Minervois and Orb Rivers.
